I got these to be used for holding fly rods in place in my car which I realize is not the intended purpose. That said, I think they would work perfectly for a cigar and will be giving them to my golf playing and cigar smoking brother. They have strong magnets that hold well for something the weight of a cigar and then some. They hold a fly rod’s cork handle with the setup I have in my car and it stays in place when not moving, but the magnets do slide down while driving with that much weight on them (rod with attached reel) which is why they don’t work for my purpose. But I truly do not think that would be an issue with a cigar! The ‘jaws’ have just the right amount of tension to hold but not crush an object. The entire device is small and lightweight and easy to toss into a bag or pocket. They are half the price of similar holders since you get two of them and I am certain my brother is going to love these for his next round.
